The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will start their campaign against Japan in Mangaung/ Bloemfontein. They will then travel 475km to Tshwane/ Pretoria to face Denmark in their second match.

Travel options from Mangaung/ Bloemfontein to Tshwane/ Pretoria.

By plane: There are no direct flights between the two cities, though you can fly from Bloemfontein Airport to OR Tambo International in Johannesburg before making the 45-minute drive to Tshwane/ Pretoria.

By car: Take the N1 from Mangaung/ Bloemfontein, passing Johannesburg, to Tshwane/ Pretoria. Though a drive of around six hours, time will fly as you marvel at the wide open spaces and mountainous terrain. A rest stop in Johannesburg is advisable.

By train: A daily train runs between Bloemfontein and Johannesburg. At Park Station you will be able to change trains and continue your journey to Pretoria.

Cameroon will then travel to the ‘Mother City’, as Cape Town is known, for their final group clash against Netherlands. The distance is 1,470km.

Travel from Tshwane/ Pretoria to Cape Town.

By plane: Given the distance, flying is your best travel option between these two cities. Drive from Pretoria to Johannesburg using the N1 South then make your way to the city’s OR Tambo International Airport where you can take a flight to Cape Town International Airport.

By car: While flying remains the best option, hiring a car from Tshwane/ Pretoria for the drive to Cape Town is another alternative. This is the only route which takes in four provinces in one trip i.e. Gauteng, Free State, the Northern Cape and Western Cape. Take the N1 South from Tshwane/ Pretoria to Cape Town passing through Johannesburg and Mangaung/ Bloemfontein.

By train: Drive from Pretoria to Johannesburg using the N1 South, then head to the city’s Park Station where you can then catch a train to Cape Town. Overall, this trip can take up to 27 hours.
