Chile begin the tournament in Nelspruit against Honduras. They then move to Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth to take on Switzerland. Although there is no direct route between the two cities, there are various travel options during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

Travel options from Nelspruit to Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth

By plane: When flying to Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth from Nelspruit, you will need to stop over in Johannesburg before continuing on to Port Elizabeth Airport. The total flight time is around 3hr40mins.

By car: Although a long drive which takes around 14 hours in total, tackling this 1,373km route by car is certainly an option. Take the N4 to Johannesburg, then get on to the N12 when you are in Johannesburg and eventually take the Southern Bypass onto the N1 South, which will take you past Mangaung/Bloemfontein.

By bus: There are bus services between the two cities, with a journey time of around 20 hours.

Chile will move from Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth to Tshwane/Pretoria to take on Spain in their final group game. There are a number of options between the two cities, as it is a well-used travel route.

Travel options from Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth to Tshwane/Pretoria

By plane: The best flight option is flying from Port Elizabeth Airport in Nelson Mandela Bay to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport. Once there, it is a well-signposted 40-minute drive from the airport to Tshwane/Pretoria. There are also a number of shuttle and taxi services available from OR Tambo International Airport.

By car: The 1,119km trip, though taking around 11 hours in total, is a pleasant one which passes Mangaung/ Bloemfontein and Johannesburg en route. Get onto the N2 heading towards Grahamstown and then onto the N10 or the N6. These will lead you onto the N1 North to Johannesburg until you get to Tshwane/ Pretoria.

By bus: There are a number of services between the two cities with the trip taking around 16 hours in total.
